Why repeat mantra every day.
The second thing, right after vegetarianism, I would like to recommend is the repetition of a mantra. Mantra has supernatural powers. The mere repetition of a mantra can cause a miracle. Such is the power of God’s name. Nothing is more important than a mantra. The mantra with God’s name is given by a self-realized Master to his disciples; if you don’t have a Master, you can use a mantra from yoga literature, for example from a great book by Sri Swami Sivananda called Japa Yoga. It contains a variety of suitable mantras. So choose one and start your mantra japa practice. Of course, the best way is to get a mantra directly from your Master along with his blessings. Repeating a mantra makes really deep sense to me. I think I am here on Earth to repeat God’s name. At least I can do something for God. I keep the hope in my heart that God will also be pleased with me. If only all people would start repeating mantras! There would be peace everywhere. “Mantra is the treasure of all treasures”, says Swami Maheshwarananda, who places great emphasis on the practice of mantra in his teachings. Simply by repeating the mantra, one can realize God in this life and attain moksha. Mantra contains the name of God, or the name of an avatar of God. The name of God in a mantra is a very important essence. It repels all negative energies such as demons, Asuras and Rakshasas. They hate God’s name. They prefer meat. Hence, if one wants to realize God, they should repeat their mantra day and night. It does not matter whether you repeat the name of Jesus or the name of Indian avatars like Mahaprabhuji or Devpuriji. It does not matter what religion you are born in, just keep repeating the name of your Lord and Master. This attracts His blessings. God’s name is a powerful weapon against all sin. Find solitude and silence, sit down and repeat your mantra. Mantra is also a weapon against disease, for it cures both this physical body and the astral body beyond it. In India, the miraculous healing through mantra is well known. Mantra awakens all sorts of strange powers over time. The repetition of a mantra must become a daily habit. The repetition of a mantra becomes a necessity of life. It will make you thirsty for the mantra. Do not let the obstacles that arise on your yoga path stop you. Choose a Master in whose proximity all doubts disappear. The Master must be Self-realized – enlightened, but such Masters are very rare nowadays. Fate gave me a Hindu saint, Vishvaguru Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda. When you get to know his whole spiritual lineage – parampara: Alakhpuriji, Devpuriji, Mahaprabhuji, Madhavananda and Maheshwarananda, your worldly wandering and spiritual search will be over. Then you will gratefully accept the mantra from Swami Maheshwarananda and become his disciple.
